What is stored here, and what is not.
This site keeps two small things: a daily tally of which buttons get pressed, and the email addresses people ask us to write to. Everything else on this page is what we do not keep.
Counts, not visitors
Some pages ask the server to add one to a daily counter. Each counter row holds five things: the day, the action, the mode, the version, and the count. That is the whole row.
There is no IP address in that table. No user agent, no cookie, no identifier, no session, and no record of any visitor. It is a tally per day per action, and the action must come from a fixed list the database itself enforces.
If your browser sends Sec-GPC: 1 or DNT: 1, the server answers 204 and stores nothing at all. The endpoint takes POST requests only, requires a same-origin Origin header and Sec-Fetch-Site: same-origin, and refuses bodies over 256 bytes.
The notification list
The field-study pages offer a notification list for studies still to come. Each signup stores three things: the email address, the market chosen, and the date of signup. Nothing else is kept. The address is trimmed and lower-cased before it is stored, and nothing is collected unless you type an address and submit it.
One email, when that study is published. Nothing else, no newsletter, and we do not pass it on. To be removed, email [email protected] and the address is deleted.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles the connection itself, including the IP address, to deliver the page and protect the service. That is separate from anything this site stores, which is the counters and the notification list above.
No trackers, no cookies
This site sets no cookies. There is no third-party analytics, no advertising, and no tracker on any page. The one third-party request is the typeface: pages load Newsreader and Manrope from Google Fonts. That is a font file, not tracking, but it is still a request to Google’s servers, so it is stated here.
The published records
The datasets on this site are public property records. They hold no personal data about visitors. Owner and taxpayer names are deliberately left out of the published work: no owner name, mailing address, grantor, grantee or legal description is read or reproduced.
